Dies Academicus 2026
Celebrate the founding day of the University of Vienna with us!
14:00 - 15:30 "Responsibility and contribution – universities and their role in democracy"
To kick off the next semester question, we are focusing on the interplay between universities and democracy. How is knowledge of democracy generated – and is it under pressure? How is it communicated to and shared with the general public? We will discuss what role universities can play in a strong democratic society today.
The discussion is held in German. Simultaneous interpretation into English will be provided.
